Techo-Bloc is looking for a mechanic to maintain and repair its fleet of mobile equipment and company vehicles.

Our fleet includes a wide variety of equipment, including more than 40 forklifts with capacities of 3,000 lbs and above, primarily Caterpillar, Toyota, Hyster, and Linde models, as well as aerial lifts, wheel loaders, and various company-owned vehicles.

You will work with a passionate and dynamic team where teamwork, collaboration, and mutual support are at the forefront.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on forklifts, mobile equipment, and the company’s automotive fleet;
• Inspect equipment and verify the proper operation of Caterpillar, Toyota, Hyster, and Linde forklifts;
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues;
• Complete required repairs and replace defective parts using hand, power, and mechanical tools;
• Review inspection reports to identify and complete the work required to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently;
• Lubricate equipment and perform recommended preventive maintenance;
• Clean forklifts, vehicles, and heavy equipment using the appropriate tools and equipment;
• Test repaired equipment to confirm proper operation and ensure repairs meet manufacturer requirements;
• Keep tools and work areas clean, safe, and organized;
• Document all maintenance and repair work performed;
• Travel, as needed, between company facilities located within an approximately 5 km radius to perform maintenance and repairs;
• Perform any other related duties.

Day Shift : Monday to Friday 7AM to 4PM

• Flexible start and finish times.

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in construction equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics, or another relevant field;
• Experience in mobile equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, or a related field;
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems;
• Basic knowledge of cutting, fabrication, and welding tools;
• Ability to read plans, sketches, technical manuals, and service bulletins, an asset;
• Ability to read technical documentation in both English and French, an asset;
• Forklift operator certification, an asset;
• Valid driver’s licence;
• Strong autonomy, resourcefulness, and initiative;
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills;
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with different departments.

This is a physically demanding position. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23kg). Manual dexterity, teamwork, hand-eye co-ordination and a combination of sitting, standing and walking required.
