We are looking for a dynamic and reliable team-player, who is passionate about the opportunities and challenges of retail and is comfortable working cross-functionally with all other departments. The Senior Corporate Counsel contributes to rue21’s results by being a main resource for internal clients in a high-growth and fast paced environment. 

•Commits to supporting rue21’s vision, mission, and values of an inclusive environment and sets an example for their team or sphere of influence. 
•    Provide legal support for all functional areas of the Company, and demonstrate increasing knowledge of the Company’s business, while retaining the discipline of legal analysis.
•    Problem-solve across legal disciplines and functional areas, including data privacy and security, trademarks, product and marketing compliance, as well as IT, eCommerce and HR matters.
•    Serve as the primary legal advisor on privacy and related regulatory matters.
•    Draft, review and negotiate company contracts, requests for proposals and other legal documents, including significant IT and Marketing related contracts.
•    Investigate situations and present practical and creative solutions and alternatives based upon independent legal research and analysis of the facts and the law.
•    Provide advice, counsel and support to all claims and litigation involving the Company.

•    Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, and in good standing in at least one state bar.  Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar through full admission or a Limited In-House Corporate Counsel License will be required.
•    Minimum 5-8 years of experience working at a law firm or corporate legal department
•    Prior retail experience, data privacy and/or trademark experienced, preferred.
•Deep understanding of the consumer product regulatory environment and consumer marketing claims
•    Effective communicator, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across the Company.
•Excellent negotiating skills, analytical abilities, and track record of handling complex business and legal issues
•    Strong drafting, organizational and project management skills, with superior attention to detail.
•    Ability to handle a high volume of work in an efficient manner and to prioritize competing demands.
•    Good judgment, a high level of professional integrity and the discretion, tact and ability to maintain confidentiality.
