The Finger Jointer Operator's job is to process pieces of mill-cut lumber into glued-up blanks that can be sent to our Glue Press for further processing or placed into inventory. The Operator sorts and feeds smaller individual pieces of wood into the in feed table.  The Operator is part of a 2-person team that rotates between the various functions on the Finger Jointer machine.  The other tasks that will need to be done on a daily basis include setting up the machine, making running adjustments, inspecting the finished boards for quality, and keeping the area clean and safe.

• Able to insure that the correct blanks are being used for the order being ran

• Perform accurate quality control inspections

• Insure that the proper glue coat is applied to the stock

• Accurate and timely preparation of daily production reports

• Perform necessary adjustment and minor maintenance on the equipment

• Maintain the proper inventory of equipment parts

• Insure that daily production quotes and standards are met

• Keep working area in a clean and orderly condition

• Maintain a safe operating and work environment

• Continuously stand and bend, understand and carryout written and oral instructions

• Attention to detail and setting work priorities

• Maintain a cooperative working relationship and work with minimal supervision

• Perform other duties as assigned.
