Job Description

The Group Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all German tax affairs across the group. Reporting to the Head of Tax, this role ensures full German tax compliance and contributes to maintaining a robust, efficient, and forward-looking tax framework for the organisation. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage and coordinate direct and WHT filings for German entities in collaboration with external tax advisors 
  • Support the Acccounting team in the preparation of indirect tax filings for the German parent company in collaboration with external tax advisors
  • Support the tax audit process for all German ib vogt entities, both with the group's internal auditors and with German Tax Authorities.
  • Function as a Tax Business Partner for the German market team, i.e. provide tax advice on structuring and other questions raised by the business 
  • Own the quarterly and annual global tax consolidation process (CT and DT P&L and B/S, local GAAP and IFRS), delivering consolidated tax numbers and related disclosures to the Accounting team in a timely manner. Provide guidance to local finance teams re tax numbers in local statutory accounts.
  • Prepare tax disclosures for the group’s IFRS consolidated financial statements and ensure accurate information collection from all group entities
  • Assist the Head of Tax with the implementation of i) a new tax forecasting (P&L and cash tax) tool, ii) the Tax Governance Framework (TCMS), iii) Regular Tax Management Information pack for the management
  • Proactively maintain and manage the Group Tax Compliance Calendar
  • Support in the preparation of German CFC (Controlled Foreign Company) calculations and filings
  • Help develop and maintain corporate policies and processes within the tax function
  • Help to identify tax risks and proactively contribute to their mitigation
  • Collaborate closely with the International Tax, Transfer Pricing, Accounting, Controlling, and Legal teams.

Qualifications

  • German qualified tax advisor (Steuerberater/in)
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in Tax; sector‑specific experience is an advantage but not mandatory
  • Openness to digitalization and ideally first experience with AI‑powered tools
  • A strong team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Pragmatic in decision‑making, open to change, and excited about finding smart, workable solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, both verbal and written
  • Curious, eager to learn, and proactive in shaping your own career development
  • Strong proficiency in standard IT tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
