Job Description
As a Senior Civil Engineering Consultant (Rail), you will provide technical and project management expertise to ensure the effective management and delivery of major rail projects.
You will also be responsible for:
- Provide technical advice to clients in relation to Rail Projects as directed by the Principal or Project Lead
- Ensure technical designs meet required specifications
- Lead the effective and timely delivery of projects from inception through to construction, within budget and to the highest standards
- Conduct comprehensive engineering assessments, feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure the successful delivery of track and civil infrastructure projects
- Develop bid documentation, assist with the negotiation of sub-contractor agreements for civil infrastructure works and assist with business development activities relating to bidding and winning future rail projects
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project environment and provide technical oversight and guidance to junior consultants and graduates
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Demonstrate willingness to progress toward or already meet National Professional Engineering Registration requirements
- Chartered Engineering (NER, CPENG) would be looked at favourably
- Relevant experience within rail industry and a keen interest in existing and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian railway standards and guidelines and ability to adhere to industry best practices
- Strong technical expertise in rail infrastructure, pavements, drainage, rolling stock maintenance and operations
- Experience in rail systems such has Overhead Line Equipment (OHLE), signalling, traction power supply and communications highly desirable
- Demonstrated project management experience specifically in the execution and management of rail project activities
- Meet requirements for rail industry site work (Rail Industry Workers Card, OH&S card etc);
- Excellent client relationship management skill as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
