We're located in sunny Barcelona, Spain, just a short walk away from the beach, and we're hiring several 'Database Developers' to integrate into our growing agile teams working for one of Europe's biggest telecommunications and media companies if not worldwide! Reporting to the Team Lead you will be ready to push the boundaries of digital change and join a growing team with an amazing work environment in this hybrid working model.
Job Description
You will work both independently and collaboratively to develop and implement new functionality in PL/SQL , Oracle APEX and occasionally batch processes.
You will have strong experience of Oracle PL/SQL programming and experience with Unix Scripting and Python. Ideally knowledge of Oracle APEX - although if you are not familiar with this, you will gain experience working in the role itself. As a Database Developer, you will need to be collaborative in your approach and communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Job activities include:
- Gather data requirements and create into database deliverables
- Deliver high-quality database components to support new functionality
- Participate in the implementation and improvement of database team procedures and standards
- Contribute to database build/release lifecycle processes
- Offer SQL review/tuning expertise to non-database development teams
- Stay on top of and implement advanced database features and capabilities where it makes sense
- You will be part of a team based in Barcelona and colleagues in Scotland.
Qualifications
At least 2 or more years' experience on the below requirements:
- Experienced in troubleshooting data quality issues
- Experience in the technologies surrounding databases, Unix Scripting, Python
- Experience of Oracle PL/SQL
- Some exposure to web development toolset, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and Oracle APEX would be great.
- Fluent English level
- Opened to work with people from different locations
- An awareness of other No SQL database technologies
- Knowledge of Unit Testing is an advantage.
