Job Description
Merkle is seeking a talented Frontend Technical Lead to contribute to a dynamic team building Next.js-based web solutions within our Experience Platforms group. This role will work with our development, creative, user experience, and project management teams to develop and deploy cutting-edge websites with innovative technologies utilizing headless CMSs.
The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of React, Next.js, CSS, and HTML. Experience utilizing technologies like Vercel, Storybook, Node, and Sitecore are preferred along with a strong desire and ability to develop both performant and accessible experiences. Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to frontend team and contribute to internal tools and team processes through independent research and hands-on development
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
- Collaborate with frontend architects to understand overall technical vision of projects and communicate to greater frontend development team
- Review frontend code through pull requests and enforce best practices and adherence to technical vision
- Directly contribute to projects by writing modular and maintainable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Review project requirements for technical feasibility
- Collaborate with business analysts to break down large features for consumption by development team, as needed
- Work collaboratively with architects, business analysts, designers, engineers, and other project team members to help deliver high quality design, business, technical, and strategic outcomes
- Maintain design integrity across various screens, devices, and CMS use cases
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and commitments
Qualifications
We expect you to confidently tick the following:
- At least 5 years of demonstrated professional frontend experience
- A willing and capable technical leader and mentor
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrated use of React, Next.js, HTML5 and CSS3 to develop performant, accessible, and maintainable frontend solutions at scale
- Experience with headless architecture and the Server-Client Rendering Spectrum
- Experience in modular web development, using Atomic Design and Storybook
- Experience with CSS tooling such as CSS Modules, PostCSS, Sass, or Less
- Experience with a JavaScript testing framework such as Mocha, Jest, or Jasmine
- Experience with Webpack or similar build tools and module bundlers
- Experience with modern frontend hosting solutions like Vercel
- Experience with GraphQL
- The ability to collaborate across teams & build professional relationships with managers, peers, and stakeholders
- A willingness to continually learn diverse technologies, techniques, and frontend topics
- In-depth knowledge of browser/client discrepancies and supported features
- In-depth knowledge of website performance considerations and performance tooling
- In-depth knowledge of accessibility and WCAG standards
- Experience working across CMS platforms
- Knowledge of and experience working within agile teams
- Ability to work independently with a high level of accountability
- Ability to estimate and complete work in a deadline driven environment
Preferred
- Experience developing websites powered by Sitecore Headless Services (JSS)
- Experience with headless CMSs
- Experience working with distributed and remote teams
Additional Information
The anticipated salary range for this position is $94,000k-$152,375k. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
