Our Carat Detroit Office has been appointed by GM to service its global advertising T1 Buying, Planning, Analytics business since July 2012. Our digital analytics team is a highly collaborative and dynamic group responsible for all aspects of data collection, strategy consulting, measurement, dashboard and tool development, analyst, and performance reporting across all digital media channels. Our team works seamlessly with the broader Dentsu Business units and our clients a “One Team mindset” to continuously improve the value our client receives from their media investment.

 

M1™ is Dentsu’s people-based media insights, planning, and measurement platform. M1 is a platform within the Dentsu operating model and will support brands to deliver people-based media planning and activation to clients. The M1 platform offers our businesses the opportunity to gather insights, plan, measure and activate campaigns based on data about real people, not proxies.

Job Description

About the Role

As the M1 Director of Analytics, you will oversee analytic team efforts on the General Motors business, providing data driven solutions using business analytics (descriptive and diagnostic), advanced analytics (predictive), and thought leadership, with the objective of improving the value GM receives from their media investment. Your primary focus will be specialized on M1 people-based measurement including exploring cross channel measurement. Your responsibilities will be across multiple clients, and brands requiring coordination between Dentsu business units, and analytic brand teams delivering on measurement solutions, testing setup/oversight, advanced analytic analysis, insight development and reporting. You will be a key contributor both strategic as well as executional in ensuring the agency is an industry leader in digital thinking, execution, and value realization for clients

As the Director, you are a highly strategic thinker who is execution focused, able to deliver key capabilities and communicate associated business benefits to a range of clients.  Your success in this role requires significant cross-departmental and inter-agency collaboration and a refined understanding of the role of data in the media and marketing space. Additionally, you can standup and lead testing programs to continuously experiment with new audiences, vendors, and partners to improve data and technology capabilities and drive business results and efficiency.

You will be implementing measurement principles and best practices ranging from oversight of daily tasks (KPI development, measurement, recurring monthly reports, etc.) to acting as a consultant on strategic recommendations encompassing People-Based Marketing, Cross Channel Measurement, MTA/MMM, Addressable Media, Dynamic Creative, Close loop Measurement, advanced data and predictive modeling, and analytical techniques.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

•            Master’s Degree – ideally with a concentration in Data Science & Business Analytics, Computer Science, analytics, advertising marketing, business, or applied statistics/mathematics

•            7+ years of experience in digital media/marketing field and 4+ years team management experience in digital analytics working directly with clients

•            The ability to identify, shape and support business development and learnings using Statistical methods - Test design (A/B, MVT), sample sizing, regressions, statistical significance etc.) associated with performance optimization

•            Advanced knowledge of digital media analytics principles and experience with major analytics solutions and dashboard/data visualization tools

•            Experience successfully leading technical projects across teams with multiple stakeholders having a very clear understanding of working with departments (technology, creative, UX, media planning, media investment, programmatic media) to understand client priorities and overall strategic considerations

•            Deep working knowledge of Ad Tech platforms including, DoubleClick (DBM, DCM) Adobe (Analytics)

•            Knowledgeable about data types, sources, partners, and what defines the quality of data; expert in leveraging data in a media and non-media context for activation, measurement as well as strategic applications

•            Ability to lead strategic and innovative data and analytics efforts, identifying trends and opportunities; ensuring insights are communicated to internal teams and integrated into strategic discussions with clients.

•            Ability to operationalize the strategic plans and translate into actionable initiatives to ensure the alignment of day-to-day actions with approved strategies.

•            Understand business challenges and produce relevant solutions that enable timely decision making

•            Act as the primary point of engagement with clients, channel delivery, client service and account teams to lead data and insights initiatives.

•            Act as the primary lead in preparation of executive level presentations for internal and external audiences.

•            Mentor staff in their efforts to support Client Services and Products & Services, focusing on professional and personal development

•            Strong ability to dig into new technologies and understand their practical application to business problems

•            Strong ability to understand the obstacles between a user case’s current practice, best practice, and how automation can drive next practice

•            Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

•            Business intelligence platform experience (Tableau and or PowerBI) is preferred

•            Experience with SQL and Python is preferred
