APM Workcare is seeking a motivated and experienced Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor to join our team at Burnham Military Camp, located just south of Rolleston and only 30 minutes from central Christchurch.
This is a unique opportunity to work within a high-performance military environment, supporting the rehabilitation and recovery of New Zealand Defence Force personnel. This is a Contracting role, offering part time hours between 15 – 20 hours per week.
About the Role
Working alongside an experienced Physical Training Instructor and a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will deliver evidence-based rehabilitation programs for injured soldiers.
The role focuses primarily on musculoskeletal rehabilitation, while also providing exposure to broader rehabilitation areas including cardiovascular, cancer, and neurological rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging group-based rehabilitation sessions
- Design and implement individualised exercise programs
- Actively participate in and demonstrate exercises, including running-based activities
- Monitor progress and adapt programs to optimise recovery outcomes
- Collaborate closely with physiotherapists and the wider clinical team
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Degree in Sport & Exercise Science (or equivalent qualification)
- Proven experience in exercise rehabilitation
- Current First Aid certification
- Strong ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Confidence in a physically demanding, performance-focused environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
