Join APM Workcare and help injured military personnel return to peak performance.

APM Workcare is seeking a motivated and experienced Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor to join our team at Burnham Military Camp, located just south of Rolleston and only 30 minutes from central Christchurch.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a high-performance military environment, supporting the rehabilitation and recovery of New Zealand Defence Force personnel. This is a Contracting role, offering part time hours between 15 – 20 hours per week.

About the Role

Working alongside an experienced Physical Training Instructor and a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will deliver evidence-based rehabilitation programs for injured soldiers.

The role focuses primarily on musculoskeletal rehabilitation, while also providing exposure to broader rehabilitation areas including cardiovascular, cancer, and neurological rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging group-based rehabilitation sessions
  • Design and implement individualised exercise programs
  • Actively participate in and demonstrate exercises, including running-based activities
  • Monitor progress and adapt programs to optimise recovery outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with physiotherapists and the wider clinical team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Degree in Sport & Exercise Science (or equivalent qualification)
  • Proven experience in exercise rehabilitation
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Strong ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Confidence in a physically demanding, performance-focused environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
