Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and efficient General Purpose Technician to join our team in Visakhapatnam, India. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of equipment and systems across our facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards. You will work independently and collaboratively to ensure all equipment operates at peak performance and that all maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner.

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions using appropriate testing tools and troubleshooting techniques
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in detailed technical records
  • Follow established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment
  • Organize and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
  • Respond promptly to equipment failures and emergency repair requests
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance schedules
  • Identify opportunities for preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting
  • Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and basic hydraulic systems
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Technical certification or formal training in equipment maintenance or a related field
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or facility management environments
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs
  • Experience with equipment calibration and performance testing
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
