Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and efficient General Purpose Technician to join our team in Visakhapatnam, India. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of equipment and systems across our facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards. You will work independently and collaboratively to ensure all equipment operates at peak performance and that all maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using appropriate testing tools and troubleshooting techniques
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in detailed technical records
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment
- Organize and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and emergency repair requests
- Calibrate and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance schedules
- Identify opportunities for preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting
- Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and basic hydraulic systems
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Technical certification or formal training in equipment maintenance or a related field
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or facility management environments
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs
- Experience with equipment calibration and performance testing
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
