We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to take on a crucial role in overseeing and automating our cloud infrastructure, with a specific emphasis on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Your primary responsibilities will involve the management and automation of our AWS environment. However, we also anticipate your valuable contributions to product development, particularly in the backend or frontend domains. You are expected to actively engage in learning and contribute to software development, expanding your expertise to encompass a diverse range of languages and tools, ultimately enhancing the capabilities of our cloud-based data platform.

A combination of Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), and Lean Software practices. We embrace a DevOps mindset, where the cross-functional development team has full ownership, from idea to production. You build it, you run it.

What you will be responsible for

Infrastructure Management:

• Assist in managing and maintaining AWS infrastructure.
• Automate software development processes for the cloud-based data platform.

Kubernetes Operations:

• Operate and coach the team on managing Kubernetes infrastructure.

Knowledge Sharing:

• Coach colleagues on infrastructure and cloud tasks to foster collaboration.

Versatility in Development:

• Learn and contribute to software development in various languages and tools.

Product Development:

• Support the development and design of the product with a focus on backend or frontend.

Ownership Mentality:

• Embody the "you build it, you run it, you own it" ethos from development to production.

To work together in an optimal way in this position, we wish your qualifications to include:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a Software Development-related field.
• 1+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
• 1+ year of experience with Infrastructure Coding Languages like Go, Python, or bash
• Experienced with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
• Experienced in administrating and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Experienced in cloud administration and orchestration (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Fluent in English.
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Advanced Scrum Developer knowledge.
• High expertise with Amazon Web Services (EKS, Athena, Aurora, IAM, S3, Glue)
• Familiar with cloud architecture patterns and best practices for designing highly available, scalable, and secure systems
