Job Description

Our Supply team is the team that fuels our customers, literally! Supply at Z Energy looks after the whole fuel supply chain and ensures we have what we need, where we need it.

We are excited to welcome a new Kaipūhanga Kaupapa Project Engineer into our team in a permanent role. Working closely and reporting into our Senior Engineer Supply this role will see you ensure that engineering projects in our Bulk Fuels Network are delivered safely to a high standard and on time.

The role of Kaipūhanga Kaupapa Project Engineer operates within our Supply investment stream ensuring a safe and operational bulk fuel supply chain. In this diverse role you will be co-ordinating multiple, on-going, projects of varying sizes, complexity, and location, taking responsibility for managing the deployment, execution, validation & verification of processes, and closeout phases.

This role could either be based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington or Ōtautahi Christchurch.

You will have the opportunity to

  • Manage the procurement, contracting and provision of engineering project and services, advice, and support to ensure sites operate effectively and safely, and assets are continuously improved
  • Develop and implement engineering projects and initiatives in high-hazard environments
  • Manage major engineering projects at Bulk Fuel Assets including providing (where necessary) on-site management and guidance in support of project needs
  • Provide engineering expertise for project design and construction for those sites you are responsible for, and ensure appropriate resources are available and secured
  • Develop project scopes and manage design and construction processes
  • Coordinate design and construction services to manage costs and deliverables
  • Manage project funds, track and report expenditures and variances and ensure project close-out processes meet company requirements and stakeholder expectations

Qualifications

    What you’ll bring to Z

    • Proven experience in an engineering and project management role
    • Understanding of, or experience in, the oil industry or related (heavy) industry
    • Successful experience in large-scale plant engineering and maintenance
    • Qualifications in engineering are essential, with a specialisation in Mechanical, Heavy Electrical or Control Engineering would be advantageous (but not essential)
    • Experience in managing contracts and outsourced expertise
    • Familiarity with information technology and common engineering and maintenance software
    • Understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations including application to Major Hazard Facilities
    • Ideally experienced in application of HAZOP, QRA, LOPA, and SFAIRP assessments and other Process Safety Tools along with proven experience working with Safety Cases and MAPP documents.

    The base salary range for this role is $129,200 to $152,000 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
