Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Stewarding Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Executive Steward in:
  • Managing staffing and kitchens.
  • Training and scheduling stewarding staff.
  • Conducting daily inspections of facilities to ensure conformance with health and fire code regulations.
  • Planning, directing and overseeing the maintenance of kitchen areas and kitchen equipment, both stationary and portable. 
  • Maintaining inventory and supplies necessary to support stewarding staff, coordinating stewarding needs with catering chefs, and all other duties as determined by the Executive Steward.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to communicate, read and write in English fluently and in a professional manner; 2nd Language a plus. 
  • Position requires a minimum of 2 years prior stewarding management experience, preferably in a high-volume, luxury hotel/casino resort and the ability to work efficiently and within a team environment; prior experience working in a Union environment a plus. 
  • Candidate must have knowledge of chemicals, personal protection equipment, sanitation guidelines, biohazard clean-up and life safety. 
  • Must have the ability to manage all aspects of the stewarding operation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
