As Utility Worker your role will include:
Job Responsibilities:
- The Utility Porter is responsible for cleaning equipment and work areas, including freezers, walk-ins and high exposed areas such as ceilings, hoods and fans, maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards, and occasionally assisting Banquet Operating departments as a Kitchen Worker, as well as performing all other duties as determined by Director of Catering or Stewarding Management.
- Responsible to clean all cooking devices such as deep fryers, grills, stoves, broilers, burners tops, steamer oven, kettle-braiser and hood panels.
- Clean dishwasher machine and check temperature of the final rinse.
- Utilize proper techniques for health and safety standards.
- Utility Porter receives the equipment pull sheets 48 hours in advance from Banquet services before equipment is gather; the Master pantry is the central location where the hollowware and silverware is cleaned, sanitized and stored.
- The designated set-up employee reviews the pull sheets then gather the equipment to ensure Banquet services receives the correct requested china, glass, and silver is put on a Queen Mary for viewing to be sign off by Stewarding and Banquet services.
- Utility porter has to be ready to execute inventory in approximately 250 items at their respective location.
- Inventory knowledge about sending and receiving packing, repair items with office services; also will be receiving and returning inventory items from and to the warehouse.
- Employee will have the ability to oversee about $3,000,000.00 and 70% of the inventory orders.
- Utility Porter is part of the response team for biohazard clean up, OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
- Workers must be able communicate with supervisors through 2 way radio, as well as be prompt, present, and prepared for all shifts.
- They also must adhere to Wynn Steward Uniform Standards, and attend all training as scheduled to learn Wynn Banquet Stewarding Guidelines.
- Candidates must be able to communicate in English and Spanish.
- A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Utility worker or Kitchen worker in high volume resort/casino stewarding is required.
- Knowledge of chemicals. MSD sheets, health code regulations, wear personal protection equipment a plus.
- Requires the ability to work with chemicals and within a team environment. Responsible for biohazard clean-up.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced and stressful environment with prolonged walking/standing.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time, push/pull up to 400 lbs. at a time; and handle heavy machinery such as tuggers, forklifts, Cushman cars, pallet stacker, electric and manual pallet jack etc.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
