Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Audio, the Audio Technician will be required to:
- Perform functions and duties as assigned to assist the department in establishing and maintaining a safe and consistent operation of all audio show systems for rehearsals and performances.
- Maintain and troubleshoot audio and communication systems and equipment.
- Operate the audio console and mix live audio for rehearsals, performances and special events.
- Perform audio department cue tracks.
- Assist with inspections and maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Assist and provide services to the other departments as needed.
- Adhere to all company and departmental safety policies with emphasis on maintaining a safe working environment.
- Adhere to all OSHA regulations.
- Assist with creating a positive atmosphere for all show personnel
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Experience/Education:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Audio Technician for a large-scale theatrical or production show.
- Experience with a wide variety of modern sound technology and audio control systems as it pertains to operation, installation, use and troubleshooting. Equipment to include: Meyer Sound Speaker Systems, AVID S6 M40, AVID 24D Bundle, Apple computers and software, Sennheiser Wireless Mics, Shure Mics, Clear Comm, Blackmagic Design Video System.
- Experience in speaker and electronic repairs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have the ability to master current and upcoming audio technology.
- Must be highly organized and be able to function in a stressful environment.
- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and be able to act quickly to different situations.
- Must be organized and have great attention to detail.
- Ability to learn or update lifesaving skills and to become CPR/First Responder trained.
- Ability to identify safety concerns and conform to safe working procedures.
- Ability, experience and comfort in working at high elevations in a theatrical environment.
- Ability, experience, and comfort in working at high elevations in a theatrical environment.
- Must maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends and holidays).
- Must have the ability to work with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of OSHA health and safety protocols is required.
- Must have OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety Card.
