Job Description
Security Officers are responsible for the safety of patrons, employees and the Wynn and Encore Property. In addition, Security Officers are responsible for ensuring all laws and policies are followed while being responsible for creating a positive guest experience by adhering to the Forbes five-star standards and the Wynn and Encore Core Values and Behaviors.
• Responsible for maintaining the Wynn standards of exceptional service to patrons and employees
• Will adhere to all Forbes Five Star standards in order to maintain the integrity of the Wynn|Encore Las Vegas ambiance while promoting hotel facilities and services.
• Understands and is well-versed in the resort, hotel features and services including all outlets, hours of operation, activities and events available to patrons.
• Work to resolve any issue that arises from either patrons or employees
• Will promote a positive guest experience at all times.
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times, regardless of outside influences.
• Will enforce safety policies and procedures in their area of responsibility to ensure a safe environment for all patrons and employees
• Patrol the property to observe persons and activities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and Wynn policies.
• Standing post to observe persons and activities on property to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Wynn polices.
• Perform tower door ajar calls and other calls for service in the towers.
• Respond to calls for service, evaluate the situation, work towards a successful resolution and communicate status with management
• Respond to incidents where there are threats or acts of violence against either patrons or employees and detain individuals if necessary in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
• Gather all initial and applicable information from persons involved in security or safety related incidents.
• Perform crowd control and scene management
• Perform table game fills and credits.
• Escort cash and chip transfers to and from the gaming floors
• Direct cash or casino chip transfers to and from slots and table fills.
• Perform Pit Drops.
• Know the location of medical bags and routinely check supply levels, reporting any deficiencies to management.
• Navigate the property efficiently with the ability to conduct escorts using the fastest or most discrete routes possible by leveraging exceptional knowledge of property layout
• Monitor magnetometers for the presence of metal, indicating possible weapons to include knives, Electronic Control Devices (ex: Taser), and firearms. Utilize hand held magnetometer to detect metal on a person.
• Maintain security and crowd control in areas of operation and report any potential or actual security violations to management and Security Communications Center (SCC); request additional security support as needed.
• Controls security incident scenes for safety and to protect the dignity of both patrons and employees
• Provide medical assistance (to include, but not limited to First Aid, CPR and AED application) to any employee or guest in accordance with their medical training until official medical units arrive and take control of the situation.
• Perform ID checks to confirm compliance with state laws and Wynn policies.
• Monitor and/or restrict access to areas under the officer’s control.
• Perform Security Lost and Found procedures.
• Monitor employee badge system, while employees “scan-in” to property; respond and report to management when unauthorized individuals gain access to the Back of House (BOH) area.
• Log vendors/visitors in and out as needed, following Wynn policies.
• Be proficient in PC computer systems using all applicable office, security and inventory software as well as iPad email applications.
• Communicate via radio in a clear and concise manner using clear language and radio codes.
• Attend required training classes and incorporates knowledge gained into daily work practices.
• Look for opportunities to assist peers, patrons, other departments or leaders at all times.
• Maintain knowledge of gaming, state and city laws.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal & written. Must be able to communicate English with patrons, management, and other employees to their understanding. Second language preferred but not required.
• Must successfully complete the Wynn Security Academy and FTO training
• Must have strong customer service skills. Ability to deal with problems involving patrons and operational issues while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Must possess a positive, “whatever it takes” attitude.
• Must have problem solving & decision making skills.
• Must be able to work alone or in a team
• Must maintain confidentiality of patron information and pertinent hotel data.
• Perform essential job functions with attention to detail.
• Be able to stand, sit, kneel, lift and walk indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time.
• Pass the Security Officer practical assessment on a yearly basis.
• A valid Nevada Gaming License, CPR and Alcohol Awareness certification are required and must be obtained before entering this position.
• Must have handcuffs, handcuff case, handcuff key and flashlight.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
