Job Description
We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong bias to action who is excited to solve problems and improve our business. The ideal candidate can flex between scrappy executing, data analysis, executive communication and cross-functional management. You’ll join the Merchant Strategy & Operations team, where we’re focused on building the best merchant selection for our customers.
The Merchant Pricing Strategy Manager (Sr.) plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing commission pricing strategies aligned with business goals and market dynamics. Responsibilities include conducting market analysis, tiering commission structures, and packaging pricing for merchants. Additionally, the specialist drives renegotiation strategies with existing merchants, builds strategic viewpoints on exclusives, and develops frameworks to improve ROIs.
You will report to the Director of Merchant Strategy & Operations and lead cross-functional collaboration between Wolt operations, sales, marketing, product, finance to hit selection goals across 25 countries. This role will be located in Berlin or Helsinki.
What you will be doing
Build merchant pricing (commission) strategy: Build strategic frameworks and actionable playbooks on how to segment merchants, create tier based commission targets for our new and existing merchant base to achieve our business revenue goals
Operationalize pricing (commission) strategy: Work closely with central and market commercial leaders to implement merchant commission playbooks and drive towards our commission targets
Commision Packaging: Help package commissions and pricing for merchants, leveraging insights from market analysis and commission tiering strategies to create compelling pricing packages tailored to merchant needs
Merchant Exclusivity Optimization: Develop strategic viewpoints on exclusives and drive frameworks to improve return on investments (ROIs) for exclusive partnerships, maximizing revenue and profitability for Wolt and its merchant partners
Merchant Commission Goal Setting: Transform our business goals into market level goals based on growth priorities of the markets, competitive environments and market dynamics
Drive Market Insights: Conduct thorough market analysis to understand industry trends, competitor pricing strategies, and customer behavior to inform merchant commission strategy
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine tiering and packaging strategies based on feedback from merchants, market dynamics, and internal data analysis.
Qualifications
- You want to affect change every day, are result-oriented and can operate in fast-paced environments.
You have 6+ years work experience in consulting, investment banking, operations, technology, startups, or related experiences. A combination of 2 or more of these experiences is a plus.
You enjoy solving problems, you are comfortable with data and have solid analytical skills (SQL a plus)
You do not shy away from getting your hands dirty, building and testing - you are comfortable in a place where the playbooks are still to be defined and built
You have experience using CRM systems (Pipedrive & Salesforce a plus) and working with technical teams
You have an ability to build cross-functional partnerships at all levels across technical and non-technical teams to achieve common goals
You communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal comms
