The Self Delivery team is looking for a senior backend engineer who thrives on working with multiple different fronts and programming languages (Kotlin, Python, Scala) to join the team. Self Delivery enables merchants to offer their products at the Wolt platform, however, to be delivered to customers by their own delivery. To make it possible, the team faces interesting challenges as we interact with multiple Wolt systems. As a backend engineer in the Self Delivery team, you will be building both API-facing capabilities as well as work on the backend of our web app, to bring new and exciting use cases to Wolt.  

As a relatively new vertical, we are at the stage where everyone in the team is not only implementing features but also building the foundation for a long-lasting product. We see system design and architecture as critical parts of the job. However, the team is well-equipped to support someone with good foundations in these areas in growing to new heights.

📍This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki or Stockholm, or you can work remotely anywhere in Finland, Sweden and Estonia. Read more about our remote setup here. If you live outside of these countries - not to worry! We provide relocation support to help you make your way to Finland or Sweden.

Hands-on: We are looking for an individual who has significant experience but still yearns to grow further. We want you to be already proficient with at least one of the programming languages below but also eager to learn and jump into projects using other languages:

• Kotlin
• Scala
• Python

We are looking for experience in the whole lifecycle of software development, for example, API design, clean code, unit testing, and some DevOps. Technologies such as AWS, Mongo, Kafka, gRPC, Kubernetes and others are a bonus. At Wolt we value skill, not the number of years on your CV.
