We are looking for Senior Backend Engineers to join our Payment Integrations team, to build a world-class payment infrastructure. As Wolt operates internationally in over 23 countries and over 200 cities, these teams are in a vital spot for e.g. enabling a smooth payment experience for our +10 million customers and ensuring stable, safe and error-proof money flows. The Payments Group at Wolt consists of 3 teams out of which the Payment integrations team is responsible for offering reliable and scalable payments options to millions of users in 23+ countries. In those countries we support a growing number of local and international payment methods such as lunch cards, credit cards and, mobile wallets such as ApplePay and GooglePay.

Within the role, you will be working in an autonomous agile team working closely with designers, data scientists and product leads and our international partners. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the whole development process (business logic, testing, database & data streaming, CI/CD, analytics, monitoring and alerting solutions). We are looking for someone who appreciates teamwork and has good communication and interaction skills. You enjoy varied work tasks and are able to learn and work with a wide range of different technologies and tools, and you are not afraid to take on new challenges.

We are building our services in Python and looking for the ability to develop production-level microservices in Python (FastAPI, Flask) from the get-go and willingness to learn other modern languages as well if needed.

Our engineers have wide responsibilities over the whole development lifecycle so knowledge of tools such as PostgreSQL, Docker, and K8  as well as some experience with any cloud platform such as AWS will become handy. We are looking for engineers who can solve problems together, think about big problems such as scalability and availability and sometimes go against the current to also challenge the common decision. Understanding Fintech & Payments will help you succeed, but please don’t let it get in the way if it’s a new area for you -  we’re sure you’d get a grasp of things quickly once you start!
