As a Backend Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in building scalable systems that support Wix services, impacting millions of users worldwide. In your day-to-day, you will:  

•  Make a direct impact-Petri supports all Wix services, with traffic exceeding 500 million RPM, influencing the workflow and tools across Wix  
•  Design and develop the new conduction system for Wix as part of the Petri rewrite  
• Tackle challenging problems in complex business flows and creatively solve them  
• Take full ownership of your work, collaborating with various stakeholders to gather requirements, design and develop innovative features, guide teams in adopting new conduction solutions, and maintain production systems while supporting alpha users 

We are Wix's Backend Engineering Guild. We provide integrated tools for microservice development within Wix to help improve developer productivity and best practices. These tools streamline the development process and reduce cognitive load, allowing Wix Engineers to concentrate on their domain, architecture, and business logic. To handle high-scale traffic (over 500B HTTP requests per day) and 500+ daily deployments, our team of 500 Backend Engineers runs production across 19 distributed data centers and cloud vendors worldwide.

•  5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, ideally with Scala or server-side technologies  
•  Passionate about designing scalable, distributed systems with a focus on resilience, performance, and clean, maintainable code, and comfortable working in production environments  
•  Strong communication skills in both Hebrew and English, with a willingness to help others-our service supports thousands of engineers at Wix  
• Proactive in understanding why things are done the way they are and always striving to improve  
•  Great interpersonal skills, a good sense of humor, and a highly motivated, collaborative mindset
