Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Procurement Specialist to join our team in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

  • Manage the complete procurement cycle, including requisition processing, vendor selection, purchase order creation, and invoice reconciliation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve optimal pricing and service levels
  • Analyze spending patterns and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement needs and timelines, providing responsive support and updates
  • Monitor inventory levels and supply chain performance, identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks or issues
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and service metrics, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions when necessary
  • Prepare reports and presentations on procurement activities, spending analysis, and vendor performance for management review
  • Utilize procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy and accessibility

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related purchasing functions
  • Proficiency with procurement systems and ERP software (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Excellent analytical and cost management abilities, with experience in budget forecasting and spend analysis
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all organizational levels
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all procurement documentation and processes
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier evaluation methodologies, and contract management principles
  • Familiarity with Australian procurement regulations and compliance requirements is advantageous
  • Preferred: Certification in procurement or supply chain management (such as CIPS or equivalent)
  • Preferred: Experience with data analysis tools and process improvement methodologies
