The ERP Product Owner will translate business requirements into product decisions, guide critical design choices, and provide leadership throughout discovery, design, build, testing, data migration, deployment, and hypercare. With deep expertise in both GP and Business Central, they will ensure the solution is scalable, auditable, supportable, and delivers the outcomes required by the business.
Job Description
Product Ownership & Business Leadership
- Act as the Product Owner for the Business Central implementation, representing the interests of Finance, Technology Solutions, and business stakeholders.
- Translate finance transformation objectives into a clear ERP product vision, roadmap, priorities, and measurable business outcomes.
- Partner closely with Finance leadership to support decisions regarding business processes, reporting requirements, internal controls, and user experience.
- Serve as the primary decision-maker for ERP design questions, business process trade-offs, and solution priorities.
- Ensure implementation decisions support both immediate business needs and long-term organizational objectives.
- Maintain ownership of the ERP roadmap beyond go-live, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization.
Solution Governance & Delivery Oversight
- Act as the primary liaison between Finance, Technology Solutions, business stakeholders, implementation partners, and system owners.
- Challenge and validate proposed configurations, customizations, and solution designs to ensure they are practical, scalable, and aligned with business requirements.
- Promote standard Business Central functionality wherever possible and minimize unnecessary customization.
- Ensure the implemented solution remains aligned with established governance, financial controls, and architectural principles.
- Escalate and resolve design conflicts, business process issues, and implementation risks.
- Ensure key system knowledge, business rationale, and design decisions remain documented and retained within WildBrain.
ERP Design & Business Process Ownership
- Own and govern the core financial design framework that underpins the Business Central implementation.
- Ensure the overall financial structure accurately reflects decisions made by Finance leadership.

- Chart of accounts design
- Financial dimensions and dimensional accounting structures
- Legal entity and organizational hierarchies
- Multi-entity configuration
- Intercompany processing models
- Consolidation frameworks

Data Migration & Transformation
- Work closely with implementation partners and internal teams to oversee data migration activities from Dynamics GP to Business Central.
- Validate data mapping, conversion strategies, reconciliation processes, and migration outcomes.
- Leverage a detailed understanding of WildBrain's existing ERP environment to identify risks, gaps, and data quality issues early.
- Perform hands-on review and validation of financial and operational data to ensure it moves cleanly, accurately, and completely from GP into Business Central.
- Ensure financial and operational data is migrated with appropriate governance, controls, and auditability.
- Testing, Adoption & Go-Live Readiness
- Oversee system testing strategy, including system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and business validation activities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to ensure testing accurately reflects end-to-end operational processes.
- Support release planning, cutover activities, deployment readiness, and hypercare planning.
- Drive user adoption initiatives, business readiness activities, and post-implementation stabilization efforts.
- Ensure the delivered solution is practical, sustainable, and effective for day-to-day users across the organization.
- Remain closely involved through go-live and stabilization to ensure the implemented solution meets business expectations and intended outcomes.
Business Outcomes
- Drive the delivery of measurable business outcomes, including:
- A governed and trusted source of truth for financial actuals.
- Reduced spreadsheet dependency and manual reconciliation.
- Improved transaction-level traceability and auditability.
- Consistent multi-entity and multi-currency financial processes.
- More efficient intercompany processing and consolidations.
- Stronger master data and dimensional governance.
- Improved procure-to-pay controls and financial oversight.
- Sustainable business adoption and long-term platform ownership.
