The Role
WildBrain CPLG Korea is looking for a Licensing Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Regional Director – Japan & Korea, this role will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing commercial strategies that support revenue growth, brand expansion, and long-term partner success in Korea.
This position is suited to an independent, hands-on professional with strong licensing experience, strategic thinking, and the drive to move projects forward from initial opportunity identification through negotiation, launch, retail execution, and ongoing account growth. The successful candidate will be expected to think ahead, identify and solve issues proactively, build strong relationships, and manage complex projects with ownership and accountability.
Job Description
What You Will Do
- Secure new licensees in designated categories tied to specific revenue goals and annual growth for the domestic business
- Manage day-to-day business including all aspects of category management financials, contracts (new deals, amendments, and renewals), account management and relationship building, product strategy, category and market analysis, trend forecasting, and data for retail placement
- Oversee new contract negotiations ensuring terms meet the company requirements and overall business objectives.
- Support the brand management on establishing cross-promotional retail activities to ensure strong retail distribution for your licensees.
- Work across multiple brands, building trusted relationships with our licensing partners, licensors as well as all other stakeholders.
- Drive and be part of an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit within the office. Teamwork with product development, finance, legal, and brand & retail team.
- Continuously strive to identify and secure new licensees that have not worked with CPLG.
- Feedback on the progress and outcome of the commercial efforts and supervising contract realization
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
- Minimum 5–7 years of licensing, sales, business development, brand management, or related commercial experience; direct licensing experience is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of the licensing business, including licensee acquisition, pitching, deal points, contract process, product approvals, retail execution, and partner management.
- Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills.
- A keen eye for detail, hands-on approach with a strategic vision.
- An innovative and creative manager/salesperson.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership, prioritize, and deliver commercial outcomes with minimal direction.
- Strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and the ability to navigate ambiguity, push through obstacles, and find practical solutions.
- University education is preferred.
- Good verbal and written skills in English preferred.
- Flexible team player with the ability to work collaboratively across the company
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Travel required.
