Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist (HR Generalist) to join our growing HR team in Gatlinburg, TN! This role supports a wide range of human resources functions, including employee relations, HR compliance, workplace investigations, performance management, training and development, leave administration, workers' compensation, policy interpretation, and employee engagement programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, employee relations, conflict resolution, and HR operations. Experience in the hospitality, resort, hotel, travel, or timeshare industry is highly preferred.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders and team members regarding employee relations matters.
- Conduct workplace investigations involving policy violations, performance concerns, employee complaints, and conflict resolution.
- Manage disciplinary actions, corrective action plans, grievance procedures, and documentation.
- Partner with union representatives when applicable.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including:
- FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act)
- FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act)
- ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
- EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity)
- Workers' Compensation regulations
- Assist with responses to regulatory agencies, including the EEOC and Department of Labor.
- Represent the company during unemployment claim proceedings and hearings.
- Partner with Payroll, Benefits, Leave Administration, and department leaders to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Support benefit enrollment, leave management, accommodations, and HR compliance processes.
- Maintain accurate team member records and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with workers' compensation claims management and case resolution.
- Support I-9 audits, employment verification processes, and HR compliance initiatives.
- Coach managers on employee performance, engagement, conflict resolution, and talent development.
- Support annual performance review processes and goal-setting initiatives.
- Provide guidance on progressive discipline, performance improvement plans, and best management practices.
- Facilitate employee training and leadership development programs.
- Develop and deliver HR training focused on compliance, performance management, workplace conduct, and professional development.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, recognition events, Customer Service Week activities, and company-sponsored events.
- Support culture-building programs that promote employee retention and engagement.
- Participate in HR projects, policy updates, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support organizational change management efforts and HR strategic initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, HR Compliance, HR Operations, or HR Business Partner functions.
- Experience conducting employee investigations and handling workplace relations matters.
- Hospitality, hotel, resort, tourism, vacation ownership, or timeshare industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, HR compliance, and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems; ADP experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with employees, managers, and business leaders.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or comparable HR certification preferred.
