- Salary: $118,969 – $132,069 plus 17% Super and Leave Loading

The Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking an experienced HRIS Specialist to support the Pay Confidence Program through advanced data extraction, system configuration and payroll remediation activities. This role plays a key part in strengthening payroll accuracy and controls across the University.
Working within a large-scale remediation program, you will bridge technical and business requirements by translating complex payroll and data issues into practical system solutions. You will work closely with program stakeholders to ensure data integrity, auditability and compliance throughout the remediation lifecycle.
The role focuses on Oracle HRIS and payroll systems, with responsibility for complex SQL data extraction, system parameter clean-up, testing and deployment. You will contribute to both immediate remediation outcomes and long-term system improvements.
What Success Looks Like
- Accurate extraction and validation of HRIS and payroll data using complex SQL queries
- High-quality preparation and reconciliation of payroll payment files
- Successful remediation of payroll system parameters through controlled testing and deployment
- Clear technical documentation supporting audit and compliance requirements
- Effective collaboration with program, payroll and IT stakeholders

About You
- Demonstrated experience in HRIS or payroll system administration, preferably Oracle
- Advanced SQL capability with experience handling large and complex datasets
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll processes and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
