WD is building the infrastructure behind the AI-driven data economy.

As AI scales, so does data. Every interaction, every model, every system generates data that must be stored, managed, and made accessible over time. That’s where we come in.

We combine deep engineering expertise with global-scale manufacturing to deliver the storage systems that make AI possible, powering hyperscale data centers, cloud platforms, and enterprise infrastructure worldwide.

This isn’t theoretical work. It’s real systems, at real scale, people solving some of the hardest challenges in technology today.

We’re looking for people who want to build, solve, and operate at that level.

Join us and let’s shape the future of data.

Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly capable, execution-focused professional to serve as the on-site representative of the Chief of Staff Office across Western Digital's Malaysia factories. This role is the critical bridge between corporate strategy and local implementation — translating executive priorities into structured, measurable site-level execution.

The ideal candidate is an MBA graduate or equivalent with strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This is not a technical or IT role — it is a strategic operations role requiring business acumen, stakeholder influence, and organizational agility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Execution & Program Coordination

  • Lead and coordinate priority initiatives across Malaysia factory sites on behalf of the Chief of Staff Office

  • Translate corporate directives into clear, structured local execution plans with defined milestones and accountability

  • Develop and maintain project frameworks, timelines, trackers, and milestone reports

  • Monitor risks, dependencies, and mitigation actions across active programs

  • Build lightweight governance structures and track key programs with a strategic lens

Stakeholder Alignment & Facilitation

  • Represent the Chief of Staff Office in site leadership meetings, workshops, and cross-functional forums

  • Facilitate discussions to remove barriers, accelerate execution, and align local teams with Head Media Operations and Corporate objectives

  • Support orchestration of cross-functional initiatives and identify synergies across sub-organizations

Global–Local Integration

  • Serve as the primary in-country liaison between Malaysia factories and the Chief of Staff Office

  • Provide structured, leadership-ready updates on progress, site-level constraints, and emerging issues

  • Surface best practices and lessons learned to corporate leadership

Change Management & Engagement

  • Support the rollout of transformation initiatives and corporate programs at site level

  • Assist with leadership visits, town halls, and employee engagement events

  • Reinforce culture-building and change management efforts across factory teams

Executive Communication Support

  • Develop polished presentations and strategic summaries that synthesize complex site data into clear executive narratives

  • Act as a thought partner in crafting communication materials for SVP-level engagements

  • Connect day-to-day site activities to broader organizational priorities, surfacing key issues and opportunities

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent postgraduate qualification

  • Demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership roles, internships, or strategic projects

  • Strong interest in business operations, strategy execution, and organizational effectiveness

Preferred

  • Engineering or operations background is an advantage

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operational environments

  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in a matrix organization

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills

  • Ability to operate independently with sound judgment and problem-solving capability

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project tracking tools (e.g., Planner, SharePoint)

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
