Job Description
The role of tribology engineer is to set up or develop component media mechanical interface test to simulate hard disk drive reliability performance. It is crucial to assist media R&D team to develop reliable tribology design
- Conduct advanced tribological testing and analysis using state-of-the-art equipment and methodologies
- Design and implement experimental procedures to evaluate friction, wear, and lubrication in complex mechanical systems
- Analyze test data using statistical software and develop comprehensive technical reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tribological insights into product development and optimization
- Present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences, including management and global teams
- Contribute to the development of new testing methods and equipment to enhance tribological analysis capabilities
- Taking charge of tribology testers maintenance, spare parts inventory management and hardware upgrading activities
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic, Mechatronics, Physics, or related field with proven experience in tribology-related testing and analysis
PREFERRED:
- Experience in Semiconductor or Hard Disk Drive industry is an added advantage
SKILLS
- Proficient in data analysis by using statistical software ( eg JMP, minitab )
- Excellent in problem solving skill with detail orientated and analytical approach
- Outstanding communication skill including the ability to present technical information effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and innovative environment
- Proficient in both verbal and written English
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office application
