Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform electrical failure analysis on HDD failures from Quality Test, Manufacturing, Reliability, New Product Development, and Engineering Change qualification activities.
- Analyze test logs, error data, and unit behavior, and execute non‑destructive diagnostics, error recreation, or basic experiments to identify failure symptoms and failure modes.
- Document failure analysis findings and provide clear FA conclusions, including recommendation for next‑level investigation by functional teams or subject matter experts.
- Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Development teams to communicate FA findings, support root cause analysis, and align on corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate failure analysis reports to support quality improvement, yield enhancement, and validation of engineering changes.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 2 years in experience in electrical failure analysis, test engineering, or quality engineering (HDD or complex electromechanical products preferred).
- Strong skills in log analysis, data interpretation, and experimental thinking.
PREFERRED:
- General knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, and electromechanical products, including experience with product testing, validation, or quality analysis in a manufacturing or development environment.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with the ability to apply cause‑and‑effect reasoning to investigate complex technical problems and failure behaviors.
- Experience in failure analysis–related activities, such as data interpretation, log analysis, fault isolation, or hypothesis‑driven investigation.
- Ability to use data analysis tools, scripting, or automation techniques, and openness to adopting AI/ML‑based tools to accelerate failure analysis, pattern recognition, and turnaround time.
- Effective communication skills to document findings clearly and work collaboratively with cross‑functional engineering and quality teams
SKILLS:
- English communication skills (verbal and written) sufficient for technical discussion, documentation, and collaboration in a global engineering environment.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and logically, including failure analysis findings, data summaries, and action recommendations.
- Problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills, with a structured approach to cause‑and‑effect analysis and logical reasoning.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, including Quality, Engineering, and Development.
- Good organization, attention to detail, and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet defined timelines.
