Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Incident Commander to lead incident response efforts and provide strategic guidance for the organization's cybersecurity initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of all aspects of cybersecurity technologies, systems architecture, and applications, and will be adept at leading cross-functional teams, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and making critical decisions under high-pressure situations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the protection of our digital assets and maintaining the security of our infrastructure against emerging threats.
Responsibilities:
- Incident Response Leadership: Serve as the primary incident commander, leading the response to cybersecurity incidents with efficiency, accuracy, and rapid decision-making. Coordinate with internal and external teams to effectively manage and mitigate incidents, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
- Technical Expertise: Leverage extensive experience and knowledge across various cybersecurity technologies, methodologies, and tools to develop comprehensive strategies that safeguard our systems, applications, and data. Provide technical guidance to team members and collaborate on the design and implementation of advanced security measures.
- Systems Understanding: Possess a holistic understanding of the organization's infrastructure, applications, and interconnected systems. Utilize this knowledge to anticipate vulnerabilities, assess risks, and recommend proactive security enhancements.
- Communication: Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Draft clear and concise incident reports, vulnerability assessments, and strategic security recommendations that can be easily understood by diverse audiences.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with leaders from various business functions to ensure alignment of cybersecurity initiatives with overall organizational goals. Effectively influence and educate stakeholders on cybersecurity best practices and risk management.
- Decision-Making: Thrive in high-stress situations, making well-informed decisions swiftly and efficiently during critical incidents. Apply a combination of technical expertise and business acumen to assess potential impacts and devise appropriate courses of action.
- Training and Development: Contribute to the growth of the cybersecurity team by mentoring and coaching junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and staying current with industry trends and emerging threats.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity roles, with at least 5 years in incident response leadership positions.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, including but not limited to network security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, encryption, and threat intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex systems architecture and applications interactions.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving results.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven experience drafting reports and documentation for executive and board-level consumption.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC certifications are highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of Python and PowerShell. C/C#/JS/PHP are desirable.
- Based in United States. Visa applications are not supported.
