Job Description

With the greatest growth in the cHDD market segment, the Applications team for Smart Video Recording (SVR) needs ambitious qualified individuals that are eager to commit to learning and working with the latest applications for surveillance recording. These individuals will be key for Western Digital to learn the newest technologies and system capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence, environmentally triggered recording and other recording possibilities that are being developed and launched by strategic surveillance customers around the world.

The SVR applications team is an internal Western Digital team that is focused on these specific customers and their applications worldwide and work directly with multiple Engineering teams to identify opportunities for performance enablers for these current and future technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support system setup, testing, failure analysis and debugging.
  • Configure and capture SATA bus traces on the end user system.
  • Analysis and understand the workload and application of the end user system.
  • Optimize the performance and functionality of the Western Digital device in the end user application.
  • Participate in communications with internal teams as well as external including customers.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Experience in setting up NAS, CCTV, or any test system
  • Ability to manage projects and tasks to deliver deadlines and commitments.
  • Knowledge in computer hardware and OS (Windows, Linux)
  • Knowledge in software programming (C, C++, Java, or Python).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Skills :

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in relevant field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Able to work under pressure for quick resolution and delivery.
  • Able to work in a team or independently.
  • Experience in the use of bus analyser and firmware debugging tools is a plus.
  • Experience in server and network debugging is a plus
  • Knowledge in SAS, SATA, and USB interface
