Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the following analysis and calculations: MTBF prediction, Weibull, FMEA, Reliability Hazard, Dynamic Reliability Block Diagram, Fault Tree, Ishikawa, Failure Analysis, Root Cause, Physics of Failure, Accelerated Testing, SPOF, Testability, Human Error, RGT, SPRT/RDT, TTR, OC curves and Screening, DFx and Risk Analysis.
- Conduct Quality & Reliability process assessments.
- Develop and lead the execution of fractional/full factorial DOEs.
- Design, implement, validate and maintain Quality and Reliability tools/systems using best-practice methodologies
- Collaborate with other cross functional teams to derive innovative corrective and preventative solutions.
- Provide risk management recommendations to the Quality head of department.
- Collaborate with SQE and Mfg Quality in the development of OQRM Testing, control plans, control charts, OCAP and it’s associated procedures and requirements to ensure outgoing product quality and reliability goals are met.
- Perform bottoms up analysis of existing MTP test suites for improvements: TTR(Test Time Reductions), Test elimination/addition or substitution.
- Liaise with Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality and the Quality Program Manager(QPM) in the implementation of Quality and Reliability systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-10 years high tech, Data Storage or DOD engineering or Program Management experience with at least five years cross-functional engineering management.
- Experience with directing and leading functional teams, leading cross functional disciplines (engineering, manufacturing, materials, finance, and marketing).
- Understands how to sustain a product in a Contract Manufacturer environment preferred
- Expertise in the following is a plus:
- Cross functional management experience
- Product and process requirements, development and implementation Customer interface experience a must a have
- Printed circuit board manufacturing, module assembly process, ICT and functional testing.
- Manufacturing/process experience
- Enclosure sheet metal, plastics, die cast, machining, cable assembly
- System top level assembly, first article inspection review, manufacturing test
- Mechanical, Electrical, System level design experience
- Development of SOP, production process, validation, FAI requirements
- Ability to thrive in a fast pace technology development environment, while being flexible to support program requirements.
- Experience working with either CM’s and/or Asian high volume sites
- Understanding of hardware/firmware desirable.
- Four year engineering degree (mechanical/electrical) is mandatory.
- Masters in Engineering discipline or MBA preferred
Able and willing to travel 20-25% of time to Asia sites and conduct routine evening phone calls from the US.
REQUIRED:
- Familiarity with Quality & Reliability management systems and the concept of out-going quality and reliability monitoring(OQRM)
- MS or PhD in a related technical field or Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years Quality and Reliability work experience in either HDD, SSDs, storage arrays or Enterprise systems.
- Expertise in the use of Statistical Analysis and Reliability Engineering applications.
SKILLS:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Subject matter expertise level in area of study/discipline
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to evaluate and interpret complex data generated by internal teams or external customers
