Job Description

The Manager will oversee and drive a group of Engineers responsible for the design and development of our next generation Electronics that support our Storage Products along with our ODM partners. This individual will be responsible for managing the execution of those designs as well as managing our ODMs to ensure that they understand and meet the requirements of our electronic specifications. A background in Storage (HDD, SSD, SD), and associated interfaces is a requirement.

The Candidate should expect to work across many time zones based upon our varied locations around the world.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mentoring and Guiding Engineers to achieve the best possible solutions 
  • Ensure that the Technical Specifications for our designs are understood by your team as well as the ODM partners.
  • Monitor the ODMs execution and practices to ensure that the Assign and plan resource deployment on projects appropriate to the level of experience and complexity of the project.
  • Provide status updates.
  • Must be able to Manage many simultaneous projects at a variety of ODMs with varying capabilities.
  • Ensure that Engineering Team is completing assigned tasks that meet the quality, functionality, and scheduled objectives.
  • Must use sound engineering principles to drive team to design and architect systems and subsystems.
  • Must have ability to work within internal and external (ODM) cross-functional teams. 
  • Must have the ability to articulate ideas within cross-functional discussions. 
  • Present or assist in the presentation of design improvement ideas, issue resolution, and analysis of technical data.
  • Perform and facilitate specification reviews, design reviews and technical data analysis. 
  • Must use sound engineering principles to identify and resolve system and component-level issues. 
  • Must have the ability to recognize where process improvements are required and be proactive in the creation of new efficient processes where needed. 
  • Provide verbal and written status including reports to Management and/or other staff members. 

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 10-15 years’ experience in Design. 
  • Familiar with the Intel and ARM Architectures. 
  • Candidate should be able to demonstrate design experience with the following Interfaces: USB, SATA, Thunderbolt, Ethernet and Wireless (802.11ac). Bluetooth and Near Field Communications (NFC) 
  • Project Management experience is an important aspect of this job 
  • Motivated individual with excellent English writing and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel (~20%). (Post COVID Requirement)
