Job Description
Use Your Strengths at Wellmark as an InterPlan Market Analyst!
As an InterPlan Market Analyst, you will identify ways to leverage InterPlan initiatives. This involves the support of new sales and account retention within the national account market, and serving as an expert resource by providing consultation to Wellmark staff on all aspects of BCBSA national programs and policies including networks, products, services, pricing and BlueCard fees. You will participate in internal work groups, corporate initiatives, and BCBSA work groups, which will have you routinely interacting with many Wellmark departments, including National Account Sales, Underwriting, Provider Relations, Claims, Customer and Provider Service, Legal, department leaders, other Blue Plans, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and Consortium Health Plans (CHP).

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or direct and applicable work experience
- 1+ years of experience including health insurance products, benefit design or funding arrangements.
- Ability to identify issues or inconsistencies; obtains relevant information, relates and compares data from different sources, and identifies alternative solutions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to effectively develop and maintain relationships.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and time management skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to collaborate with others to reach resolution; explore alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance from all parties.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Travel required between 5-10%
Preferred:
- BlueCard experience
Additional Information
a. Facilitate and support national account sales and retention by providing expertise on BCBSA InterPlan Programs (IPP), BCBS networks, products, and services, perform claims disruption and claims re-pricing analysis and reporting, and fee negotiations with other Plans.
b. Review, maintain, analyze, negotiate, and reconcile national account BlueCard fees. Create, document, and maintain records for audit purposes, notify Wellmark departments of fee arrangements, and create Plan Profiles in CBF (Capital Bulk Format) system.
c. Serve as an expert resource for Wellmark staff on all aspects of IPP. Participate and/or facilitate day-to-day meetings with and respond to inquiries from Sales, Underwriting, and Provider Relations teams; BCBSA; CHP; and other Wellmark staff.
d. Assist and support national programs strategic initiatives by actively participating at both the national and Wellmark level to influence national and IPP programs and products. Assist with tactical details and execution.
e. Develop and maintain positive relationships with national account/IPP contacts at Blue Plans to enable favorable negotiations and resolution of IPP issues.
f. Other duties as assigned.
