Job Description
Help Wellmark Lead Change with a member first focus as a Team Leader Inside/Field Sales!
Are you a seasoned leader with experience leading a team in a dynamic and customer service focused organization? Do you thrive on leading others through change? We are looking for our next Sales leader dedicated to leading our team of Inside/Field sales professionals by driving results through effective sales leadership. This team specializes in serving employees, retirees, and individuals in various markets, providing them with exceptional individual products tailored to their unique needs. Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or direct and equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience in New Sales, Telesales, or related role where consultative selling skills were demonstrated.
- Effective leadership experience in a medium to high complexity organization or equivalent work experience gained through a combination of project or informal leadership.
- Strong consultation skills with the ability to influence and solicit cooperation and consensus from a variety of stakeholders. Must be able to understand the needs of others, ask meaningful questions, distill information into relevant insights, and develop actionable solutions.
- Ability to establish ongoing, collaborative relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Strong conflict resolution skills and resiliency.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts across all levels of an organization, including senior leadership.
- Proficiency with data and strategic analysis. Ability to compile, prepare and analyze data, identify issues or trends, and develop and communicate relevant, actionable recommendations.
- Valid Driver’s License with moderate travel >20%.
- Requires a current license in Life and Health Insurance in the state of Iowa and/or South Dakota, or the ability to successfully obtain license within 60 days of hire.
Additional Information
a. Provide leadership and day-to-day management of financial and human resources, primarily focusing on employee coaching, development, performance improvement, coordination and budgeting for staff and department(s) specific functions/services. Support business objectives and produce results that are effective, accurate, and timely and on target to meet HR team and stakeholder needs.
b. Coach and mentor team on effective consultative selling skills, relationship management principles, and telesales techniques and ensure they are effectively practiced with all customers. Perform Quality Assurance activities to ensure compliance and strong selling/ relationship management skills. Stay informed of sales activity, removing barriers and obstacles to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external business partners and prospective customers. Ensure the member experience drives decision making process. Support regional vendor activities that serve as an extension to our individual sales team.
c. Facilitate the use of CRM to improve and monitor workflows, sales process and customer experience. In partnership with Marketing, facilitate the use of CRM to manage and report campaign activities.
d. Prepare and analyze periodic reports and regularly update database showing sales volume, potential sales, and status of active pursuits. Coach and mentor staff on effective use to data driven decisions based on identification of fact-based opportunities and solutions. Monitor the competition and reports actions and trends to management. Share competitor intelligence with appropriate internal staff.
e. Recommend service/product enhancements or changes based upon market feedback and increased sales potential. Monitor the competition and reports actions and trends to management. Share competitor intelligence with leadership and appropriate internal staff.
f. Initiate problem solving and continuous process improvement strategies. Assume overall responsibility that processes, policies and procedures meet compliance requirements and result in meeting company goals, operational efficiencies, cost saving and customer satisfaction and retention. Direct, develop and support process improvements, delegating to and coordinating with leadership team as appropriate.
g. Participate, oversee or lead Wellmark directed projects as business dictates.
