Job Description

What’s Facility Services in our Finance Division?  

The Facilities team supports the organization by ensuring a safe and effective work environment across all three Wellmark office locations. Facilities team members assess space needs across the organization to plan and execute staff moves, furniture reconfigures, and complete building improvement projects from design through finish/FF&E selection and construction. The changing landscape of work is creating exciting opportunities to rethink the traditional office design and support new ways of working.

What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects are included below:

  • Learn about general facilities strategic space planning
  • Assist the team with workplace design including interior design strategy, finish and FF&E selections
  • Project management from design to completion which includes construction and furniture installation
  • Collaborate with other business partners to complete assigned projects

This internship will start in May of 2023, working a hybrid schedule from our headquarters in Des Moines.

Qualifications

  • Current junior or senior pursing a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Revit
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
