Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Operator- transfer station and Customer Assistant to join our team based at the Green Island transfer station and landfill in Dunedin. This role involves working a revolving roster, including Mondays to Sunday (5 Shifts per week, 40hrs). This role is responsible for undertaking duties associated with the day-to-day operations of the waste transfer station and Rummage shop while maintaining a high level of customer service.
You will be valuable point of contact for customers entering the site. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Directing traffic and customers to the appropriate areas on site
- Operate onsite plant and equipment as required (forklift/loader)
- Perform general housekeeping duties
- Performing general administrative duties
- Handling EFTPOS, account, and cash transactions, as well as operating an electronic cash register
This is a customer-facing role in a busy environment, so the ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask effectively is essential.
Qualifications
We are looking for a customer-focused, proactive individual with:
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Forklift lincence
