This Co-op position is from January to June 2027 and is based onsite in State College, PA.

Support State College Transducer PENG team and transducer production in daily tasks and projects as they relate to transducer manufacturing. This role is focused on testing and test related activities but may support additional areas of assembly and production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead primary project assigned for the co-op term from start to completion

• Assist Sr. Test Engineer in evaluation, development and implementation of new test systems and protocols

• Assist production and production engineering team with other projects and tasks as needed including but not limited to time studies, work instruction development, fixture design, product design, etc.

• Interface with production assemblers and test technicians to review and update test plans and procedures

• Improve existing or develop new features for test programs.

• Analysis of manufacturing data using Excel, Power BI and other software tools

• Create and update documentation for manufacturing standard of work

• Conduct studies and propose improvements to the test process flow and spatial utilization based on Lean Manufacturing principles

• Read and understand basic engineering drawings and specifications to assist in evaluations, answering requests from other departments, and completing projects and tasks

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Currently pursing BS or MS degree in Physics, Engineering Science, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Robotics, Computer Science or other Engineering discipline

• Rising Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior (to graduate school)

 ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
• Strong background in physics is a plus
• Programming experience in LabView, Python, C#, or Matlab is a plus
• Experience with simple circuits and tuning components (capacitors, inductors) is a plus
• Interest in learning oscilloscopes, multi-meters, pulser/receivers, piezo ceramics

 Pay range: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
