Who will you be working with?

You will be part of DATCI (Digital Advanced Technologies & Cloud Innovation), Wabtec's team responsible for designing, building, and operating the cloud-native platforms and advanced technologies that power Wabtec's digital future. The team transforms complex business and customer challenges into scalable, reliable, and innovative digital solutions. Working closely with software engineers, cloud engineers, architects, and product stakeholders, you will help deliver technologies that support Wabtec's evolving digital ecosystem.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the DATCI organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and operating cloud-native applications that support strategic digital initiatives across Wabtec. This position combines full-stack software development with a strong understanding of cloud technologies, enabling you to own solutions from concept through production deployment.

You will build modern user experiences, develop scalable backend services, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate across global teams to deliver secure and maintainable software. Success in this role requires technical excellence, innovation, ownership, and a passion for continuously improving how technology solves business problems.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven years of professional fullstack software development experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering and supporting production applications.
  • Experience working across the full technology stack, including frontend and backend development.
  • Strong proficiency in Go and Python.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and distributed applications.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud-native deployment models.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to delivering results in challenging environments.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn, with the ability to thrive in dynamic settings, quickly acquire new skills, and effectively navigate evolving projects and priorities.
  • Fluent English. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Experience with GraphQL APIs
  • Familiarity with Java and/or Node.js
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with container platforms and orchestration technologies
  • Demonstrated innovation through technical initiatives, side projects, process improvements, or adoption of emerging technologies
  • Experience supporting globally distributed teams and products

What will your typical day look like?

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications, including frontend interfaces and backend services
  • Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using React or Angular and modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies
  • Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Go and Python, with occasional development in Java or Node.js
  • Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support business applications and integrations
  • Deploy, monitor, and operate applications in cloud-native environments
  • Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to ensure services meet security, scalability, reliability, and operational requirements
  • Participate in architecture discussions and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and development approaches
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
  • Support testing, automation, and quality assurance initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed systems and production environments
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into technical solutions
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve system performance, developer productivity, and customer experience
