Who will you be working with?

The Buyer/Procurement Specialist will interact with all levels of Manufacturing/Fulfillment leadership as well as work together with cross functional teams including Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program Management.

 

How will you make a difference?

The Buyer/Procurement Specialist will manage the buying process, apply sourcing policies, and interact with different suppliers and business segments.  This position requires a strong foundation and knowledge in procurement/sourcing.  In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, drive process adherence, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and can affect short-term and long-term business goals.

Required Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED plus 4 years of Buying/Procurement experience)

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Buying/Procurement/Sourcing or Supplier Management experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high degree of attention to details

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite

 

What will your typical day look like?

  • Place and follow up on Purchase Orders

  • Manage relationships with suppliers including On Time Delivery, Material Availability, Lead Time Maintenance, and Reduction

  • Update MRP systems

  • Balance tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive material availability and other key business metrics

  • Work together with cross functional teams including Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program Management

  • Develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge

  • Manage supplier performance reviews

  • Contribute to projects as a team member or lead special projects within the Fulfillment organization

  • Share knowledge and help to mentor other team members

 

Our job titles may span more than one career level.  The salary range for this role is between $62,100 - $85,300.

 

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.  The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare and retirement are available at www.mywabtecbenefits.com.
