Job Description
As a Maintenance Tech, you will be responsible for maintenance solutions that impact safety, quality or cost in a positive way in all areas of the facility. You must be comfortable with the job being different each day. Troubleshooting is a key attribute for a maintenance technician, you will be faced with problems from the shop floor and you, along with team members from the shop floor and the rest of the Plant Services team will be accountable for coming up with solutions. In addition to maintenance, you will have responsibility for the handling and placing machinery and equipment and other duties as assigned.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and performing equipment mechanical maintenance and repair work
- Diagnosing and trouble shooting
- The handling and placing machinery and equipment requiring assembly with precision, alignment, and fitting using radio-controlled cranes, forklifts or other material movement devices, handle heavy tackle, make difficult hitches will be required
Basic Requirements/Qualifications
- Starting Pay is $35.36/hr (up to $36.73/hr after 6-month progression and $37.92/hr at 4 years of service) with night shift differential of $1/hr when working 2nd shift hours.
- Available shift: 4 day, 10 hour work week: Monday – Thursday, 3:15pm – 1:45am
- Must have a minimum of 3 years industrial or facilities maintenance experience (to include preventative maintenance of production equipment/machinery, general plumbing, industrial electrical/wiring)
- Must have a mechanical aptitude and experience in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment
- Must be able to work as part of a team. Maintenance employees will have the responsibility for performing numerous preventative maintenance tasks while performing assigned maintenance tasks and other related duties as assigned
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High-school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs and safety shoes
- Must be willing to work in a tobacco-free environment
- Be willing to take a drug test & submit to a background check as part of the selection process
- Be willing to submit to random drug tests
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
- Must be willing to work as necessary to meet requirements of the position, including the ability to work occasional weekends and scheduled overtime
- Must be able to complete some operations at heights up to 20 ft.
- Must be able to climb and complete some work on ladders
- Must be able to lift material up to 40 lbs.
- Must have ability to properly use and care for assigned tools and equipment
- Must be able to adhere to standards, do a quality job in a safe manner and within acceptable time
- Every employee will be an in-process inspector
