Who will you be working with?
Our best in-class Services team combines knowledge of our customers monitoring solutions, networking, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and global rail operations. Wabtec has the largest install base of vision and acoustic Wayside (solutions on side of or embedded in the track) of the global rail industry. Our team interacts with a global customer base during problem resolution process and partners with other key stakeholders to support our customers in their derailment protection solutions and operational safety solutions.
How will you make a difference?
- Installation and Maintenance (Installing, configuring, and maintaining equipment onsite).
- Site Monitoring and reporting of mechanical failures of the systems or components
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues for all Machine Vision equipment in the Field. For acoustic, vision and thermal electronic systems
- Keeping records of service calls, updating databases, installations, and maintenance Service repairs.
- Training the customers on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
- Performing Annual Maintenance Calibration of equipment in line with instructions
- Follow the railroad relevant industry regulations and safety protocol while working on-site as appropriate to the country in which our equipment is installed
- Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance in line with instructions
- Working in the field of troubleshooting system failures / determining actions to identify and resolve issues.
- Preplanning work and ensuring that the necessary safety measures are in place, risk assessments completed
- Completing the relevant paperwork to record the work done
- Monitoring of systems remotely using IT systems to access our equipment
- Traveling between customers within the assigned region to perform annual maintenance / calibration/ warranty repairs or performing break fix analysis and issue resolution
What do we want to know about you?
- Bachelor technical education or equivalent (1 to 2 years of working experience in the field)
- Strong customer service skills while on the phone / onsite
- Able to use some common mechanical tools (Wrenches, drill, and heavy-duty tools)
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time
- Prior experience working with customers and a preferrable background in the rail industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use Electronics Test Equipment (Multimeter, RJ45 Cable Tester, Oscilloscope)
- Computer Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent Communication (Verbal and Written)
- Driven and results focused
- Legal authorization in Kazakhstan is required
- English proficiency is required
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in the Rail Environment, track walking, lifting equipment, working at night, inclement weather etc.
- Wearing the appropriate PPE to comply with the relevant Railway Safety Regulations
- Working in confined spaces
- Hot work – soldering, grinding
- Understanding the Electrical Safety requirements of our systems (Lock Out procedures etc.)
- Office work sitting for long periods of time as and when required to attend meetings on line and complete paperwork
