Job Description

Electronic Assembler I is an entry-level assembler position performing a wide variety of mechanical assembly operations. Follows methods and sequence of operations in assembling cables, soldering, bonding, limited testing and manufacturing of transducers. Ability to follow procedures and drawings

Job Requirements

  • Acquire all established health and safety rules.
  • Acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks and adherence to production plan schedule while producing high quality products to standards.
  • Adhere to policy and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Work on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.
  • Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Work under close supervision.
  • Act as champion of the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Time and attendance are in accordance with company policies, procedures and work area schedule.
  • Complete work orders on schedule to ensure a constant flow of product and to maintain efficiencies.
  • Ability to sit for an extended amount of time
  • Ability to work under a microscope
  • Hand soldering
  • Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, work orders, procedures and follows verbal directions.
  • Quality Oriented
  • Computer literacy
  • Prepare product components and fixtures for assembly.
  • Performs bonding processes.
  • Fabricate cable assemblies.
  • Attaching / Closing process (hand soldering)
  • Limited testing of products
  • Performs routine hands on assembly tasks in the manufacture of Eddy Current probes, Ultrasonic transducers or BondMaster sensors.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of Eddy Current, Ultrasonic or BondMaster inspection methods and its application in the sensor assembly process

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience with hand soldering and using a microscope is a plus

  • Good manual dexterity
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Computer skills and literacy a plus
  • Must be a highly organized, self-managed individual who works independently with minimum supervision and the ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Enjoy contributing to a diverse manufacturing group
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to sit and work under a microscope for extended amount of time

 

  • Pay Range: $16.00 - $19.00 an hour, depending on experience.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The pay rate for this role is currently $16.00 - $19.00 an hour.  The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
