Job Description

Who will you be working with?

A Division of Wabtec UK Ltd, Northampton-based firm Bearward Engineering manufactures radiators for the power generation industry and is currently recruiting for a FP&A Accountant.

 

Role: FP&A Accountant

Salary: £Competitive

Location: Northampton, (NN4 8HJ)

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, and Friday 08:00am to 15:30pm

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

 

How will you make a difference?

We are seeking an experienced FP&A Accountant to act as a business partner to the Finance Director, supporting financial planning, reporting, treasury management, and compliance activities. This role is critical in delivering accurate financial insights, driving strategic decisions, and ensuring adherence to global standards.

 

What will your typical day look like?

  • Provide and interpret financial data to support business decisions.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Support development and management of budgets and STRAP.
  • Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and quarterly reporting.
  • Manage accounts receivable and cash from operations reporting.
  • Oversee ERP-related processes and cost accounting.
  • Support treasury management, including cash optimization and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, US GAAP, audit, tax, and international reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide ad-hoc financial analysis.

 

What do we want to know about you?

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with post-qualification experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (Oracle, PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint, Blackline).
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
