Job Description

The Help Desk Technician at Boone Power is responsible for the daily administration, maintenance, and support of the organization’s end‑user computing, audio‑visual, event systems, and entry‑level cybersecurity operations. This role ensures a consistent, reliable user experience by providing hands‑on troubleshooting and training.

Responsibilities include frontline support for hardware, operating systems, applications, Office 365, VPNs, and basic network connectivity; managing device lifecycle activities from procurement through retirement; staging and providing AV and meeting support in the new Boone Power office; and executing routine cybersecurity activities such as triaging and documenting incidents, monitoring EDR and OS patching dashboards, validating and remediating phishing tests, and contributing to user awareness and training.

The successful candidate will report to the IT Infrastructure Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School and 1 year of experience
  • Preferred certifications, such as CompTIA A+
  • Experience with "hands-on" training
  • Strong desire to learn and provide support for users
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users
  • Ability to conduct research for hardware and software issues
