Job Description
What You’ll Do
As a Journeyman Lineman, you’ll play a key role in building, maintaining, and repairing our electric distribution system — both overhead and underground. You’ll work with a team that values safety, skill, and service, ensuring our members have the power they depend on every day.
Responsibilities include:
- Constructing, operating, and maintaining electric distribution lines and equipment
- Responding to outages and restoring power safely and efficiently
- Leading or supporting apprentices and groundmen when needed
- Ensuring all work follows safety regulations and cooperative standards
This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited four-year apprenticeship program
- Four years of progressive experience in electric line construction and maintenance (preferred)
- Knowledge of RUS specifications, transformers, substations, and line equipment
- Valid Indiana Class A CDL
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and safety-first mindset
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions and meet physical job requirements
- Residency within the service area required within one year of hire
