Salary: £14.57 per hour

Location: North Petherton

Working Hours: Working hours are 5 out of 7 days per week, with 2 in 3 Sundays worked, and 42-week rota of 2 early weeks (5.30 to 2 pm) and 2 late weeks (9.30 to 6 pm).  Sunday and Friday are always early shift.  Currently no Saturday working.

Job Description

  • To prepare and produce food within our production areas including cold rooms, kitchens, bakery and salad preparation areas, ensuring all products meet our high quality and safety standards.
  • To follow detailed product specifications, recipes and production procedures consistently.
  • To safely handle allergens, food production equipment and sharp tools while preparing, assembling, packaging and dispatching salads, cakes and ready-to-eat products.
  • To work efficiently to meet daily production volumes and deadlines for delivery to our Units.
  • To maintain excellent hygiene standards, including cleaning down workstations and equipment in line with food safety and company procedures.
  • To support Chef colleagues across the Central Production Kitchen and wider operations, including our burger van when required.

 

Working Environment

  • You will spend the majority of your shift working in our temperature-controlled cold rooms (chilled environments). 
  • Although full PPE and warm protective clothing are provided, the environment remains cold, so you must be comfortable working in these conditions for the full duration of your shift.

Qualifications

  • We are keen to hear from committed and positive candidates who wish to work with likeminded colleagues to produce high quality food items.  Candidates ideally will have some food related experience and be willing to achieve a Food Safety level 2 qualification.
  • Level 2 Food Safety Qualification (Desirable)
  • Level 2 H & S Qualification (Desirable)
  • First Aid Certificate (Desirable)

Pre-Employment Screening

Successful applicants will be required to provide a three-year employment history and five-year address history to work on Hinkley Point C.

They must be able to provide in date photographic ID and their right to work in the UK so that security clearance can be obtained as these roles are based on a nuclear regulated site.
