We are seeking an experienced Engineering Draftsperson to join us for a 1-year Fixed Term Contract.
Job Description
Reporting to the Drawing Systems Controller, the Engineering Draftsperson will provide multi-disciplinary drafting support across the Geelong Refinery.
The role will primarily focus on reducing the backlog of operational drawing revisions, including updating drawings from approved redline mark-ups, field-verified information and engineering inputs.
The role may also support project drawing updates as required.
This is a contract position based predominantly on site at the Geelong Refinery. Regular site attendance is required to undertake field verification, clarify drawing mark-ups and work directly with refinery personnel. Some remote work may be accommodated where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver drafting services across process, safety, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical, civil and site layout drawings.
- Produce, revise and maintain high-quality 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD and raster editing tools.
- Update controlled drawings from approved redline mark-ups, field information and engineering inputs.
- Review mark-ups and clarify incomplete or conflicting information with engineers, technicians and drawing originators.
- Conduct site inspections and field verification to confirm existing plant conditions.
- Support the as-building of operational changes, MOCs and project work.
- Ensure drawings comply with company procedures, engineering standards and drawing conventions.
- Progress drawings through the required checking, approval, revision control and release processes.
- Support document control activities and maintain accurate drawing records within Lunr.
- Provide progress updates and raise issues that may affect priorities or completion.
Qualifications
About You
You will be an experienced Draftsperson who is comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines in a complex brownfield industrial environment.
You will have strong technical drafting skills, sound attention to detail and the confidence to identify and clarify incomplete or inconsistent information. You will also be comfortable working on site and engaging directly with engineers, technicians, Operations, Maintenance and project personnel.
You Will Bring
- At least five years of multi-disciplinary engineering drafting experience ideally in refining, petrochemical, oil and gas or another heavy industrial environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Raster Design, or equivalent raster editing software.
- Experience updating drawings from redline mark-ups and verified field information.
- Experience with electrical and instrumentation drawings, with P&ID experience highly regarded.
- Experience working in brownfield and hazardous-area facilities.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards, revision control and as-building processes.
- Experience using an Electronic Document Management System such as Lunr.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to drawing accuracy and quality.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines.
- Ability and willingness to work predominantly on site at the Geelong Refinery.
