Job Description
Visa is seeking a passionate, authentic, dynamic and results-oriented leader to join the Finance Systems Strategy (FSS) team as the Senior Director, FP&A Technology & Strategy. FSS is responsible for managing Finance technology and tools and is currently working directly with the Finance Leadership team to design the future architecture and drive the Finance Technology modernization roadmap.
Visa has established a broader Finance Velocity Office (FVO) to build a foundation that supports the growth and complexity of our business and improves the day-to-day interactions of our Finance teams. FSS team is working tightly with the broader FVO to implement technology to evolve how we work together to achieve meaningful, sustainable change and enable our long-term growth agenda.
This is a people leader role with a global team and involves collaborating with key stakeholders across Finance, IT and the broader business to understand business needs, identify improvement opportunities to develop and execute on the roadmap to accelerate our path to building a world-class finance function.
Essential Functions:
- Lead translating finance vision for the future into a world-class end-state architecture.
- Product Ownership/Management – define, drive and oversee the delivery of our decision support roadmap to enable core FP&A processes across the enterprise as a critical conduit between the finance function and CIT.
- Solution Management – ability to detail, influence and collect business requirements and problem statements and translate them to specific epics, user stories and drive a solution to meet the business requirements through technical applications, solutions, development.
- Analyze current state and business needs using industry best practices to deliver recommendations. Design/facilitate sessions for alignment of target state organization.
- Work with and manage third-party system implementation vendors and consulting companies for the assessments and implementation of new tooling.
- Work collaboratively with the broader Data Strategy & Governance initiative to future proof our target state architecture for Finance – inclusive of planning & forecasting tech stack.
- Managing resources globally (India, Europe) to support process improvements and BAU support for planning cycles (Annual plan, outlook, monthly close) activities.
- The individual will be key to determining globally efficient solutions to meet a geographically dispersed user community. The individual will be a key advisor and partner with the Controllers, Revenue Operations and FP&A Leaders to deliver technology solutions for global/regional Planning / Budgeting functions.
- Prior Financial Services Industry experience is required, with a deep understanding of the functional and technical aspects of ERP, Billing/Revenue, and Enterprise Planning Management (EPM) systems.
- Develop compelling business cases and use cases as needed to support speedy decisioning by Finance Leadership.
- Drive execution of the portfolio of FP&A transformation, Business Intelligence modernization and other Finance initiatives. Communicate and collaborate with other Finance leaders to design solutions that meet Business expectations.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead and take accountability / have self-orientation.
- Project and change management experience – proactively identify risks, change management requirements and engage necessary stakeholders (e.g., tech, business stakeholders, comms teams etc.)
- Work closely with Technology partners on the day-to-day execution of ongoing BAU (Fixes, Enhancements)
- Strategic and forward-looking thinking with a tendency to look at issues in a holistic manner.
- Experience overseeing large, complex, global data transformations with a bias for action.
- Work successfully in a matrixed environment, with an ability to influence without authority and use subject matter expertise and facts.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications,
- 12 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
Preferred Qualifications,
- 15 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 12 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- 10+ years of Financial Systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, etc.) experience
- 5+ years at a Director or above level, managing Finance applications functional teams or other Finance type teams managing some of the following types of systems, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Project Costing, Procurement and Sourcing, Billing and Revenue, Budgeting and Forecasting, Consolidation, and various Analytical Reporting tools
- Experience designing and executing financial systems implementation, specifically enterprise planning management platforms (e.g. Oracle, Anaplan, SAP, etc.,).
- MBA strongly preferred.
- Experience working on multi-stakeholder initiatives, focused on improving the customer experience.
- Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills in a global, matrixed environment with cross-functional teams.
- Must be self-motivated and can lead and motivate others.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 200,000.00 to 312,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
